Papa Michigan & General Smiley - Downpression LP
SKU: GREL42 OverviewDescription:
Re-issue of the album from
1982! - The dynamic deejay duo of General Smiley & Papa
Michigan made some history with the "Rub-A-Dub Style" longplayer
for Studio One in 1979 and returned three years later in fine form
for producer Henry "Junjo" Lawes. "Downpression" was recorded with
the Roots Radics in the Channel One Studio with engineer legend
Soldgie (Cedrica Anthony Hamilton) and mixmaster Overton
"Scientist" Brown at the controls. A timeless longplayer with
printed lyrics on the back of the sleeve - an essential LP which
signalled the crossover of Reggae and Hip Hop alongside Yellowman
and his hit "Zungguzungguguzungguzeng".
