Barrington Levy - Robin Hood LP
SKU: GREL14 OverviewDescription:
Reissue of the album from 1980! - The young Barrington Levy (aged
16 then) teamed up with Herny "Junjo" Lawes to pay tribute to Robin
Hood, the heroic outlaw in English folklore. The two created an
impressive longplayer which boasts some of the heaviest rhythms
from either the singer's or the producer's career. Backed by the
Roots Radics at Channel One (in a rare outfit with Carlton "Santa"
Davis/Drums, Earl "Chinna" Smith/Guitar and a full horn section),
the LP was mixed by Overton "Scientist" Brown at King Tubby's
Studio - the tracks also provided the basis for the classic dub
album "Heavyweight Champion".
